Against the background of our decades of off-road experience, the success of our proven products in trophies and rallies, and their use from the glaciers of Iceland to the Australian outback, we have developed a selection of reliable special accessories together with our suppliers and producers around the world.

TIBUS bolt-on portals are available for Land Rover, Mercedes Benz G-models, UAZ, Nissan Patrol as well as various Jeep and Toyota models and for Suzuki Jimny. Portals for other vehicles will follow. We are currently working on adapting TIBUS bolt-on portals to different independent wheel suspensions on the front axle.

Please inform yourself about the current status of development on our news page and on Facebook or register for our newsletter.

Raising with TIBUS bolt-on portals

using a Suzuki Jimny as an example

The TIBUS bolt-on portals are installed on the existing axles and bring a "lift" of 115 mm. The then possible tires of the dimension 225/75R16 - instead of the Suzuki standard size 195/80R15 - again 25 mm.

This results in a ground clearance of 350 mm under the differential.

This corresponds to an improvement of 70 percent.

In order to achieve the same ground clearance without portals, wheels with 40" tires or one meter diameter would have to be used. This is not possible.

The reduction in the TIBUS bolt-on portal compensates for the larger tire so that no additional load is generated on the drive train. The drive shafts made of the material "300m" supplied with the Suzuki Jimny make the axles even more stable.

The axle geometry is fully retained, so that there are no disadvantages when driving. The turning circle is smaller, which is another advantage.

A vehicle with TIBUS bolt-on portals is absolutely suitable for everyday use. All electronic systems work as usual.

Raised by modified suspension springs

The lift with springs and/or a body lift brings optical advantages compared to the standard condition, but also disadvantages on the road and no significant advantages off-road.

The front axle of the Suzuki Jimny is guided on radius arms. When longer springs are used, the axle geometry also changes, the so-called caster, so that the vehicle's directional stability deteriorates, which leads to extremely unstable driving behavior in a vehicle with a short wheelbase.

The Suzuki Jimny is fitted with 195/80R15 tires as standard. The diameter of the tires is 69.3cm or 27.5". This gives the Suzuki a ground clearance under the differential of 21 cm.

Using a tire size of 225/75R16 with a diameter of 74.4 cm or 29.5" increases this ground clearance and 2.5 cm. The total ground clearance is now 23.5 cm.

At the same time, the larger wheels increase the load on the entire drive train, so that defects in the components are more likely to occur. The larger wheels also increase the turning circle of the vehicle. The loss of power also reduces the top speed if the gear ratio in the differential is not changed at the same time.

Although portal axles are more expensive, they bring considerable advantages on and off the road. There is no alternative to this.
